Letter of support for the 2009 Montana Wild Buffalo Recovery and Conservation Act
This is a letter (download the .doc file) of support for the 2009 Montana Wild Buffalo Recovery and Conservation Act (draft pdf - see also attachments listed at the bottom of this), supported by our ally, the Gallatin Wildlife Association, that they plan to push in the Montana legislature in 2009. Please consider sending some form of this letter, as discussed below.
To Whom It May Concern:
I believe the Montana and Federal Governments should not be spending my tax dollars on a defective bison management plan; specifically MCAs 87-1-216, 87-2-730, and 81-2-120. Bison should be managed as any other wildlife species within the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem. Bison are one of the unique wildlife species that bring tourists from around the globe to our area. We should be encouraging their survival as a species rather than removing vital members of their gene pool. So please, stop the slaughter of this magnificent creature and encourage both Montana and Federal policies to manage them as any other big game species as proposed by the 2009 Montana Wild Buffalo Recovery and Conservation Act.
Sincerely,
