11/6/09 MSU researchers shares study on wolf stalking, elk populations at symposium (by Rob Chaney Missoulian)--interestingly, I've read that 6,500 elk is what some researchers argue is the approximate carrying capacity of elk in the Northern Range; while elk numbers shrink, it will be interesting to see what rises as a result (riparian vegetation, beavers perhaps)
